About ten years ago, under the influence of Western road literature, I wanted to experience the spirit of the “Beat Generation”. I became a so-called backpacker, frequently packed my bags went traveled, leaving text and photo records in the mean time. In the age of the pandemic, the concepts such as “movement” and “distance” are very different from those in the past. Now, it feels like an opportune time to clear up your imaginations about the distance.
I re-examined and edited the travel notes and video photos I wrote before, which overlapped with the content of my favorite novel “On the Road” at the time. By interspersing real and fictional narratives, I tried to clarify past experiences and feelings, but also reflect on and respond to the current state of self through creation.
